As our mission to increase the diversity, distribution, and quality of healthcare workers, we are excited to offer the following programs for healthcare professional students.
AHEC Scholars. This is a 2-year longitudinal program for students in specific health disciplines and is two years from graduation. The program provides didactic and community-based experiences to expand student’s learning and network. Learn more HERE.
Interprofessional Case Competition. Healthcare professional students at any level can register as a team or individual to participate in the competition. Teams receive a case study and together create solutions and a budget for the complex community health issues. Teams provide written submission. Top teams present before judges. Wisconsin Express. Students spend a week together traveling and learning about the various cultures and emerging health issues within Northeast Wisconsin. For more information about the program and registration, click HERE.
Community Health Internship Program (CHIP). Students serve an eight-week internship in June at places such as public health departments, community centers, and non-profit organizations. Interns earn $2400. Registration closed for 2021. For more information, click HERE.
Interprofessional Workshops. Healthcare students from various disciplines meet to review case studies, participate in interprofessional simulations, and learn about other disciplines. Interprofessional workshops are held in the spring, summer, and winter breaks.
