NEWAHEC provides health science presentations to regional middle and high school students/classrooms. The 19 unit original presentations and hands-on activities were developed by WI AHEC staff. Presentations are taught by AHEC staff, who travel throughout the region to supplement the local health education opportunities. What makes these presentations unique is the hands-on actives that are a prominent feature of the majority of these sessions.
Each of the units covers the health care professions within that cluster. WI AHEC discusses job duties, scope of practice, education and schooling along with average current salaries. Students then break into small groups to go through multiple hands on stations.
